Phone screen died, locked out of Envel

Last night my phone’s screen died.

I’m trying to open the Envel app on my backup phone, (wifi only) and the dual-factor authentication wants to send me a code via SMS. It’s going to send the code to the phone with the dead screen and that won’t work. Is there any way to authenticate via email? (or an authenticator app like Google Authenticator)

Update: I was able to set up Cash, PayPal, and Venmo on the backup phone. All use dual-factor authentication. Google Authenticator is up and running using backup codes.

So far, Envel is the only thing I’ve tried that is still locking me out.

Hey Jon,

I’m very sorry about this. Thank you for the update!

You bring up a good point about our authentication process. I will discuss with our team to see if we can add other options in the case that users get locked out of their phones.

Best,
Jacqui

Email or Google Authenticator have worked for everything else I’ve installed.

Hey Jon,

I brought this up to our dev team, and they said that its on our long term roadmap, but that they will do there best to prioritize! Thank you for bringing this up, and again I’m very sorry you weren’t able to access the app. Did you end up getting your phone fixed? Or do you still not have access?

Best,
Jacqui
